Jassen Harris Industries Corporation Empowers Education and Industry at CIDRCON 2025

The Center for Integrated Circuit and Device Research (CIDR) Program successfully hosted the 3rd Annual CIDRCON last August 11–12, 2025, at Novotel Manila, Araneta City, Quezon City. This year’s theme, “Connect. Innovate. Design. Revolutionize. Strengthening the Philippines’ Microelectronics Ecosystem Through Strategic Collaboration and Talent Development,” brought together experts, industry leaders, government officials, educators, and students to explore how collaboration and skills development can boost the country’s microelectronics industry.
Event Highlights
The two-day conference featured plenary talks, technical sessions, panel discussions, and exhibits from companies and academic institutions. Attendees learned about the latest research, cutting-edge technologies, and real-world applications in microelectronics. Networking activities gave participants a chance to exchange ideas, form partnerships, and discuss ways to strengthen the Philippines’ presence in the global technology arena.

Keynote and Guest Speakers
CIDRCON 2025 welcomed an impressive lineup of local and international speakers:
- Dr. Boris Murmann – Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Hawaii – “Re-Energizing Chip Design Through an Open-Source Ecosystem” (via Zoom)
- Dr. Farhana Sheikh – Principal Engineer and Research Manager, Technology Pathfinding, Advanced Chiplet Technologies, Altera Corporation – “Chiplets Everywhere! Opportunities and Challenges” (via Zoom)
- Dr. Jan Rabaey – Professor Emeritus, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, University of California, Berkeley (via Zoom)
- Ma. Cristina Roque – Secretary, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
- Ma. Angela Ignacio – Undersecretary, Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs (SAP-IEA)
- Engr. Robert Minguez II – President, Embedded Silicon Technology Solutions Corp.
- Engr. Lendl Alunan – Senior Design Manager, Analog Devices Inc.
Their sessions covered topics such as open-source chip design, chiplet technologies, government initiatives to boost the tech sector, and strategies for building stronger industry-academia linkages.
Jassen Harris Industries Corporation (JHIC) proudly joined CIDRCON 2025 as a Bronze Sponsor, underscoring its dedication to supporting local innovation and technology growth. At the JHIC booth, visitors saw live demonstrations of:
- The Creality Hi Combo, a versatile 3D printing and laser engraving solution that drew attention for its ease of use and high-quality output
- The mioDAQ demo showed how this small device can handle both analog and digital tasks in one unit. Visitors saw it measure voltage from a knob, turn an LED on and off with a button, and check signal accuracy—all at very fast speeds.
- The CompactDAQ Demo Box demonstrated a portable system that can measure things like temperature, strain, vibration, and light. Using different plug-in modules, it collects and displays data in real time through NI LabVIEW, making it useful for both classroom learning and professional testing.
- The IECUBE3100, an advanced in-circuit emulator and development tool, giving attendees a closer look at how microcontroller programming and debugging can be made faster and more efficient

These hands-on exhibits attracted a steady stream of participants, sparking conversations about how such technologies can benefit education, manufacturing, and research.
