Showcasing Innovation: Jassen Harris at UPLB’s 29th DEE Anniversary

The Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) celebrated its 29th Anniversary with a series of activities held from September 29 to October 10, 2025. The two-week celebration brought together students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners, showcasing not only academic excellence but also the community spirit that drives the field of engineering forward.
The highlight of the opening day was the SemEEnar, held on September 29, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Dante B. De Padua Hall, EE Auditorium. The seminar featured talks on innovations in energy, intelligent systems, healthcare, and sustainability, followed by a roundtable discussion. It provided a vital platform for exchanging knowledge and insights on how engineering can help solve today’s most pressing global challenges.
Other events in the anniversary calendar included:
- Kumustahan (October 1, 2025): A wellness program emphasizing mental health support for students.
- PalaEEsipan (October 3, 2025): A quiz competition that tested technical knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork.
- AllEEmpics (October 4, 2025): An inter-batch sports and talent showcase that encouraged camaraderie and school spirit.
- OutrEEch (October 10, 2025): An outreach program that introduced high school students to the fundamentals and opportunities in electrical engineering.
As one of the industry partners, Jassen Harris Industries Corporation participated in the SemEEnar and set up a booth to showcase practical engineering technologies. Displayed at the booth were P1S 3D printer from Bambu Lab, mioDAQ and cDAQ from Emerson-NI, Analog Discovery Studio Max and Analog Discovery 3 from Digilent, and video presentations of Bitlismen Power Labs Ecosystem Trainers, all of which sparked interest among students and faculty members. These tools illustrated how modern technology can enhance learning, research, and applied engineering projects.

Beyond its participation in the SemEEnar on September 29, 2025, Jassen Harris extended its support for the entire DEE anniversary celebration, reinforcing its advocacy for academe–industry collaboration. The company’s presence highlighted its mission to equip future engineers with access to emerging tools and technologies, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
With this year’s successful celebration, the company is excited to look forward to more opportunities to collaborate, showcase innovations, and support the growth of engineering education in the years ahead.
