Jassen Harris Successfully Concludes NI LabVIEW & DAQ Hands-On Workshop in Manila

On April 17, 2026, Jassen Harris successfully conducted the NI LabVIEW & DAQ Hands-On Workshop at the REAP Center, bringing together educators and professionals for a full day of immersive learning and innovation.

A Day of Hands-On Experience

The workshop delivered a well-balanced mix of foundational concepts and practical application, allowing participants to actively engage with both the theory and real-world use of LabVIEW with Nigel and data acquisition technologies. Through guided exercises and live demonstrations, attendees explored how graphical programming simplifies system design and accelerates development.

The session was facilitated under the guidance of Mr. Paulo Arcenal, Engineering Manager at Jassen Harris whose expertise and instruction played a key role in ensuring a smooth, engaging, and impactful learning experience for all participants.

Bridging Theory and Real-World Applications

The afternoon session focused on Data Acquisition (DAQ) using National Instruments hardware and tools, with the integration of Nigel playing a key role in bridging theory and real-world application. Through Nigel’s intelligent guidance within the LabVIEW environment, participants were able to better understand how DAQ concepts translate into practical implementation.

Attendees explored how to collect, analyze, and visualize real-world data, reinforcing key concepts through hands-on exercises and actual system integration.

Insights from Industry

Adding further value to the workshop, Mr. Ryan Balang, Sales Area Manager of NI PH delivered a session focused on the NI ecosystem and its evolution. He discussed how National Instruments has continuously advanced its technologies to support the changing needs of engineers and industries.

His talk highlighted how NI solutions enable innovation across various applications—helping organizations streamline development, improve efficiency, and adapt to increasingly complex engineering challenges. This gave participants a better understanding of how the tools they were learning fit into real-world industry use.

Engaging Activities and Recognition

To make the experience even more interactive, participants took part in a quiz challenge that tested their understanding of LabVIEW with Nigel and DAQ concepts. Outstanding performers included Ms. Loriene O. Buenafe from Adamson University, Ms. Jocelyn Villaverde from Mapúa University, Mr. Harold Alexis A. Laot from University of Santo Tomas Mr. Allan Funa Jr. from Adamson University, Mr. Lean Karlo Tolentino from Technological University of the Philippines – Manila and Ms. Xena Portento from Our Lady of Fatima University – QC, all of whom demonstrated strong mastery of the topics covered during the workshop.

In addition to the quiz, special recognition was given to Mr. Matt Ervin Mital from Our Lady of Fatima University – QC for successfully completing the LabVIEW coding and DAQ challenge. His performance highlighted strong technical capability, problem-solving skills, and consistent dedication throughout the hands-on activities.

Driving Future Innovation

The NI LabVIEW & DAQ Hands-On Workshop demonstrated the importance of experiential learning in engineering and technology. By combining expert-led discussions, AI-assisted tools, and practical exercises, the event empowered participants to confidently apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.

As technology continues to evolve, initiatives like this play a crucial role in equipping the next generation of engineers and innovators with the tools and skills they need to succeed.
