NI Academic Roadshow 2026 Lands at LPU Davao

The engineering landscape in the Philippines took a significant step forward on March 25, 2026, as the NI Academic Roadshow made its highly anticipated stop at the Lyceum of the Philippines – Davao (LPU Davao). This annual gathering brought together educators, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the future of software-centric engineering education.
The roadshow was a focused day of keynotes, software demos, and hands-on workshops designed to bring industry practices directly into the classroom. The collaboration between NI Philippines and LPU Davao aimed to help academic institutions modernize their laboratories and strengthen outcome-based education delivery.

The day kicked off with a powerful opening address by Engr. Lester Dave L. Pelias, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering and Aviation (CEA) and Program Chairperson of BS in Computer Engineering at Lyceum of the Philippines – Davao, Inc., who discussed the rapidly changing landscape of engineering education. This was followed by an overview of the NI Academic Platform presented by Mr. Ryan Balang, providing attendees with insights on how tools like LabVIEW, Multisim, FlexLogger, and InstrumentStudio support accreditation readiness and modernized workflows. Mr. Jack Aguilar then led the software session, “Understanding the Industry Workflow,” followed by Ms. Patricia Ludovice’s “Curriculum Matching Session.” Attendees also participated in a hands-on experience guided by Engr. Alfredo Pangilinan III. The day concluded with Mr. Ryan Balang presenting on capstone projects and interdisciplinary applications, and wrapping up with an executive summary and roadmap discussion.
Key event highlights included:
- Software Sessions: Practical insights into understanding industry-standard workflows.
- Curriculum Mapping: Showing how to integrate these tools into an existing syllabus without needing major curriculum changes.
- Hands-on Experience: Guided experiments that prove how these technologies support capstone projects and interdisciplinary learning
- Bridging Students from Classroom to Career: Addressing the current lack of test engineers, exploring ways to develop more talent in the field, and demonstrating how NI solutions prepare young professionals to meet the growing demand in test and measurement
Spotlight on Jassen Harris Display
One of the highlights of the event was the Jassen Harris display, which featured a curated showcase of tools shaping the next generation of engineering. Instead of a hands-on setup, the display provided attendees with a closer look at key industry-aligned platforms and their capabilities:
- mioDAQ – A USB data acquisition platform from National Instruments delivering 20-bit, ±10 V measurements with simultaneous sampling, analog outputs, digital I/O, and counter/timer channels for flexible lab measurements.
- Analog Discovery Studio Max (ADS Max) & Analog Discovery 3 (AD3) – From Digilent, ADS Max is a full desktop instrumentation suite for circuit prototyping, while AD3 is a compact, portable multi-instrument. Both use WaveForms software for oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and waveform generator functions.
- IECUBE STSC-3100 – An integrated circuit test training platform that combines measurement and automation tools from National Instrument

As the exclusive distributor of NI in the academic sector, Jassen Harris is honored to serve as the vital link between these industry-standard tools and the Filipino academic community, ensuring that we provide the resources needed to modernize labs, strengthen outcome-based education, and prepare students for real-world workflows.
Let’s Keep the Momentum Going!
The engagement at LPU Davao was a testament to the region’s commitment to excellence in engineering. Whether you are looking to explore pilot programs or need assistance in mapping NI tools to your specific curriculum, Jassen Harris, together with NI, are here to support your journey.
